In 2023, Carol King joined the PAR Board of Trustees, bringing her personal experience as a mother and carer. Her expertise lies not in social care but in security and canine care. Carol is a dedicated animal enthusiast.

She established 'It Takes a Village,' a Currie, Edinburgh-based community support group that has been a lifeline for parents of children with neurodiversity. Her commitment to this cause is unwavering. She has resumed her studies in Community Brokerage in Self-Directed Support to further assist other parents and caregivers facing challenges with services for their children. Carol's passions include dogs, travel, and tattoos.
